Free Wellness Program for Teens and Parents

The Saint Louis County Department of Health is sponsoring a free wellness program for adolescents ages 12-17 and their parents or guardians.  It will run from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. over six consecutive Saturdays from March 7th through April 11th.  Called “Healthy Living for Teens and Their Parents”, the series of six classes will focus on nutrition, self-esteem, and being physically active.

Each of the Saturday classes will include both classroom instruction and slide dance aerobics, so all participants should wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to MOVE!  Attendance prizes will also be awarded each week.  Classes will be held at the North County Recreation Center located at 2577 Redman Road (63136).

Advance registration is required.  To learn more about the program or to register for classes, please contact Tanika Prowell at 314-679-7870 or  This program is made possible by funds from the Maternal Child Health Grant (MCH) and the Women, Infants, and Children Grant (WIC).
