A Portion of St. Louis County’s Packwood Park Renamed Bluff View Park

urlSt. Louis County Parks has submitted legislation, which the St. Louis County Council approved, officially changing Packwood Park’s name in one portion.

Packwood Park, which St. Louis County Parks acquired in 1987 for future development, is comprised of three units. One unit, which is leased to the City of Wildwood, has now been renamed Bluff View Park. Another 252 acres will continue to be called Packwood Park.

“The name seems fitting since there is a magnificent view of the Meramec River at the end of the property along the Bluff View Trail,” said Tom Ott, acting Parks director.

The nearly completed 2.5-mile trail is a hiking and biking trail that Wildwood is developing on land owned by St. Louis County. Bluff View Trail can be accessed from the Al Foster Memorial Trailhead, which is near the intersection of Grand and Washington Avenues in Glencoe. Future access is planned off of Old State Road, which will offer access to what is being developed in conjunction with the state of Missouri as an 11.5-mile multi-use trail system in the area.
